EVÎN is a Berlin-based singer, songwriter, and producer of Kurdish descent whose music blends contemporary R&B with the language and musical traditions of her Kurdish roots, bridging Western urban life and Middle Eastern heritage. A trained jazz vocalist, she crafts emotionally precise, experimental songs shaped by cultural intersections, drawing on influences like James Blake, FKA Twigs, Rosalía, Jorja Smith, and Sufjan Stevens. Her sound—marked by cinematic keys, future beats, and jazz-inflected grooves—explores identity, displacement, memory, and belonging. Since her debut On My Way in 2020, EVÎN has steadily built a catalog reflecting both vulnerability and strength. Early singles like Still, Walls, That It Ends, and Love Me // Next Level introduced her emotionally driven R&B style. Her 2022 self-titled debut EP EVÎN marked an evolution in sound, featuring soulful vocals and cinematic introspection on tracks like Loss, Blessed, Snow, and Recall (feat. Nomé). It Wasn’t Even For You, a six-track EP released later that year, expanded her focus on healing, identity, and memory. The project also addresses the loss of her father—a Kurdish-Alevi journalist and activist—exploring themes of transience and cultural preservation with raw honesty and grace. For this release, EVÎN worked closely with stylist Esma Patkavak to craft a multidisciplinary narrative merging tradition and modernity, deepening the visual and conceptual world tied to empowerment and personal history. In 2023 and 2024, EVÎN released a string of singles including Who Is She (with wnbl), best friend, Blessed, and happy without you—each honing her sonic signature of ambient soul, jazz, lo-fi beats, alternate R&B and experimental pop. 2025 saw the release of hearts mîxtape, a collaborative album with German producer jakohitsdifferent. The immersive project blends hazy processed vocals, cinematic instrumentation, and downtempo beats. Marking a new creative high point, the album seamlessly fuses Eastern and Western influences into an experimental, emotionally rich blend—earning a New Musik Radar ‘Most Loved’ award.
