Amaya Laucirica is an Australian singer-songwriter and musician known for her melodic style that blends elements of dream pop, shoegaze, and indie rock. Emerging from Melbourne's vibrant music scene, she released her debut album Sugar Lights in 2008, followed by Early Summer (2010), Sway (2014), and Rituals (2018), each showcasing her soft deamy vocals and layered guitar-driven sound. Her music has drawn comparisons to artists such as Cocteau Twins and Mazzy Star, marked by emotional depth and a cinematic atmosphere. In early 2023, Laucirica began recording her fifth studio album with producer James Cecil at Super Melody World. Titled The Blue Hour and set for release in September 2025, the album is said to be her most eclectic to date, signalling a bold stylistic shift with orchestral arrangements, electronic beats, and hi-fi pop production. Known for her atmospheric live performances, she has supported artists including Mark Lanegan, Blonde Redhead, and Adalita, continuing to evolve as a distinctive voice in contemporary Australian alternative music.
